Shared seatfrom $1600/person

Overview
The Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour with Kala Patthar landing shared seat is $1,600 per person with a fixed morning departure, while the Private Charter is available at $5,000 per 2 pax, $5600 per 4 pax, and $6,200 per 5 Pax.
Experience the thrill of a lifetime with our Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour, offering unparalleled views and an exclusive landing at Kala Patthar (5,545m) for close-up panoramas of Mount Everest. This is a Kala Patthar landing experience first, taking you from Kathmandu to 5,545 m for a short ground stop beneath the Everest massif rather than simply viewing the mountains from the air. Over approximately 6.5 hrs, you will fly through the Khumbu, pass over Everest Base Camp, land at Kala Patthar when conditions permit, then descend to Hotel Everest View at 3,880 m for breakfast before returning to Kathmandu. Both options use an Airbus AS350 B3e and include transfers and required permits, with every flight and landing subject to weather, aircraft performance, payload, and CAAN regulations.

Why Choose the Kala Patthar Helicopter Tour?
A conventional Everest Base Camp trek takes days because reaching the upper Khumbu requires gradual walking and acclimatization. This helicopter tour takes a different approach. You travel from Kathmandu directly into the Everest region and reach Kala Patthar at 5,545 m without undertaking the full trekking route.
The short ground stop at Kala Patthar is the defining part of the trip. You are not simply looking at Everest from an aircraft window. Weather and regulations permitting, you land at the viewpoint, step outside for 10 to 15 minutes, and see the surrounding peaks from high above the Khumbu Valley.
The rapid ascent is also why the ground time is deliberately limited. You rise from approximately 1,400 m in Kathmandu to 5,545 m at Kala Patthar, so the tour is planned around controlled exposure to high altitude rather than a long stay at the summit viewpoint. After Kala Patthar, the helicopter descends toward Syangboche at 3,880 m, where you have breakfast at Hotel Everest View before continuing back to Kathmandu.
What Makes This Trip Different?
Reach the highest point of the Everest region
The biggest advantage is time. A trek to the Everest region requires multiple days, while this helicopter experience brings you to Kala Patthar and back to Kathmandu within approximately 6 to 6.5 hrs. That makes it suitable for travelers with limited time in Nepal, travelers who cannot commit to a high-altitude trek, and visitors who want to make the Everest region a focused part of their Nepal itinerary.
Kala Patthar is the main landing experience
The package is built around Kala Patthar, not simply flying around Everest. At 5,545 m, the viewpoint gives you a direct high-altitude perspective of Mount Everest and the surrounding peaks. The landing remains subject to weather, visibility, aircraft performance, passenger weight, and CAAN regulations.
Visit Hotel Everest View
After the high-altitude landing, the helicopter descends to Hotel Everest View at 3,880 m. Breakfast here gives you time at a much lower altitude before the return flight. Dietary requirements can be arranged with advance notice.
Shared Seat or Private Charter?
Before choosing which adventure to experience, you have to know the difference between Shared vs. Private Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour: Which Should You Choose?
Shared seat for this trip is $1,600 per person. The Shared Seat is the fixed-price option for individual travelers or smaller groups who are comfortable flying on a scheduled morning departure.
You pay $1,600 per person and share the helicopter according to the day's passenger bookings.
Capacity is:
- Up to 5 passengers outside monsoon
- Up to 4 passengers during monsoon
The aircraft's payload limits still apply. If passenger and baggage weight requires a split for the higher-altitude sector, the flight will be arranged accordingly.
Private Charter
The Private Charter gives your group exclusive use of the helicopter. The price is currently listed as
- $5,000 per 2 pax,
- $5,600 per 4 pax, and
- $6,200 per 5 Pax
It can be confirmed based on your travel date, group size, and aircraft availability. Private Charter gives you more control over your group and departure planning, but it does not remove aviation restrictions. The same 350 kg load limit through Pheriche, a 250 kg higher-altitude load limit, weather requirements, and CAAN regulations apply.

Best Seasons
| Season | Typical conditions | Kala Patthar conditions |
| Spring, Mar to May | Generally favorable mountain flying, with conditions becoming less predictable toward the monsoon | Cold, typically around -5°C to -10°C |
| Monsoon, Jun to Aug | Cloud, rain, and reduced visibility can cause more flight disruptions | Typically around -2°C to -8°C |
| Autumn, Sep to Nov | Generally the most reliable period for clear mountain visibility | Typically around -5°C to -10°C |
| Winter, Dec to Feb | Cold conditions and possible weather disruptions | Can fall to approximately -10°C to -20°C |
These are planning ranges, not guaranteed flight-day temperatures.
Permits
The required Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit and Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Permit are arranged as part of the package.
Kala Patthar Landing Rules
The landing is planned for Kala Patthar at 5,545 m, but it is always subject to:
- Weather and visibility
- Wind conditions
- Temperature
- Aircraft performance
- Passenger and baggage weight
- Fuel requirements
- CAAN regulations
- Pilot's operational decision
If the pilot or aviation authority determines that a Kala Patthar landing cannot safely or legally take place, the helicopter will not land there. The pilot's decision is final. The applicable alternative arrangement will depend on the operating conditions that day.
Hotel Everest View Breakfast
Breakfast at Hotel Everest View, 3,880 m, is optional in this package. If there is any possibility, please communicate the passengers' dietary requirements in advance. If weather, visibility, or flight operations prevent the helicopter from safely reaching Hotel Everest View, the itinerary will be adjusted according to the operating conditions.

Pickup Time
Your normal Kathmandu hotel pickup window is 5:30 to 6:15 AM. The exact pickup time is confirmed before departure based on the flight schedule and airport requirements.
Important Note
Why Book with Aero Connect Nepal?
Aero Connect Nepal manages the helicopter booking process from passenger coordination and seat allocation to permits, hotel transfers, airport coordination, and communication with licensed helicopter operators. We work across the booking and operational chain, giving you one point of contact before departure and while your flight is being arranged.
Local Support
Our representatives are available in Kathmandu, Lukla, Namche, Tengboche, Dingboche, and other Sherpa settlements, giving you local support as your journey moves into the Khumbu. Within two months of its inception, Aero Connect Nepal had already served 3,000+ customers and successfully facilitated 200+ helicopter flights across Nepal.
Our Role
Aero Connect Nepal is not simply a minor company that passes your booking request from one operator to another, but a dominant operational hub. We coordinate passenger information, weight checks, seat allocation, permits, transfers, weather communication, and schedule changes with the licensed helicopter operators.
Seat Access
Helicopter operators can operate the aircraft, but shared flights also depend on having suitable passenger demand and available aircraft capacity. Aero Connect connects passenger demand with available helicopter capacity, which is particularly important when passengers need a confirmed seat rather than a private charter.
Pricing
Aero Connect Nepal provides the applicable passenger or charter price before you confirm your booking. Pricing can vary according to route, aircraft availability, passenger numbers, season, payload requirements, and whether you choose a Shared Seat or Private Charter. Plan your tour at an optimal price range, mostly cheaper than any other operators.
Seat Security
For clear-weather operations, Aero Connect works to secure the booked seat according to the confirmed booking arrangement. This does not override aircraft capacity, weather restrictions or pilot decisions, and every flight remains subject to safe and legal dispatch.
Weight Checks
Everest helicopter flights have strict payload requirements, particularly at higher altitudes. Passenger and baggage weights are checked before departure, and the aircraft may require a shuttle movement when the applicable payload limit is reached.
Weather Support
Weather can change a helicopter schedule with little notice. Aero Connect communicates operational updates, works with the licensed operator on rescheduling, and helps passengers understand what happens when the planned flight cannot operate.
Ground Network
Our Kathmandu team handles booking and pre-flight coordination, while representatives in Lukla, Namche, Tengboche, Dingboche and other Sherpa settlements provide local support when your itinerary requires assistance on the ground.
Full Coordination
Aero Connect stays involved when a flight changes because of weather, payload or operational restrictions. Instead of leaving passengers to coordinate separately with the operator, hotel, transfer provider, and local contacts, our team manages the booking-side logistics throughout the journey.
Clear Responsibility
Aero Connect Nepal does not present itself as the helicopter operator. The helicopter is operated by a licensed aviation company, while Aero Connect Nepal handles the customer booking, passenger coordination, and related logistics.
We can coordinate available seats, communicate operational changes, and arrange alternatives where possible, but we cannot override CAAN requirements, aircraft payload limits, weather restrictions, or the pilot's final operational decision.

Practical Details
Altitude and AMS:
Kala Patthar is at 5,545 m, so altitude exposure is significant even though the ground stop is only 10- 15 min. Onboard oxygen is available throughout the flight. Shared Seat: these altitude and ground-time limits apply to every passenger. Private Charter: the same limits apply, regardless of your group's preferred timing.
Health and age:
Passengers should be generally fit for high-altitude helicopter travel. The usual age range is 3 to 80+ years, while passengers with severe heart or lung conditions should get medical clearance before flying. Shared Seat: All passengers must meet the same health requirements. Private
Charter:
Your group can travel together, but private booking does not remove the medical requirements.
Weight checks and shuttle split: Passenger and baggage weight are checked before departure because aircraft performance changes at altitude. The confirmed load limit is 350 kg through Pheriche (4,371 m) and 250 kg above Pheriche. Shared Seat: passengers may need to be split between helicopter movements if the applicable load limit is exceeded. Private Charter: your group is booked as a private movement, but the same aircraft load limits apply, so a shuttle split may still be required.Aircraft capacity:
The helicopter carries up to 5 passengers outside the monsoon season and 4 passengers during monsoon operations, subject to operational load limits. Above Pheriche, the load restriction may reduce the number of passengers that can travel together. Shared Seat: passenger allocation follows the available operational capacity. Private Charter: the helicopter is reserved for your group, but the maximum safe load cannot be exceeded.
Weather and timing:
Flights operate only when weather and operating conditions are suitable. If weather prevents the flight, Aero Connect Nepal first tries to reschedule; if that is not possible, the amount paid to Aero Connect Nepal is refunded, subject to the stated payment-processing terms. Allow about 10-15 minutes of timing variation because ATC, weather, and operating conditions can affect the schedule. Shared Seat: rescheduling depends on the next available shared departure. Private Charter: a new departure time can be arranged for your group, subject to aircraft and operational availability. Check out Aero Connect's Weather Cancellation policy.
